... and here for the second part.

Every member is welcome to attend the General Assembly meetings for the convention. Members attend to learn what is involved in the planning of such an event, to share their ideas, to offer to do service. The schedule & location are annexed below. The 8th Al-Anon/Alateen Bilingual Convention with AA participation was an inspiring success thank to the commitment and participation of many Al-Anon, Alateen and AA members. Everyone through tears and laughter celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the founding of Alateen. Everyone, suffering from the effects of the disease of alcoholism, heard sharings to give them hope. To emphasize that A-Anon & AA recognize that sometimes we may need professional help, bilingual members were able to attend a conference by professional therapists.

Participation is the key to harmony.

Please support your committee and convention by putting your gratitude into action. Paul (Program), Viviane & Johanne (Hospitality) and Steve (Security) have offered to be service sponsors for any member wanting guidance in doing service for the convention.

When I got busy, I got better!

Catherine B., Madeleine M., Penny C., and Sheila, your committee for the 9th Al-Anon/Alateen Bilingual Convention with AA participation are looking for a member to co-ordinate and a few volunteers to assist her/him in organizing the hospitality room, which all members appreciate during the event. Also, the creation of decorations for the meeting rooms and hospitality room at Cegep Rosemont on Sept 12-13, 2008 requires the participation of members. We look forward to you joining us and growing with us through service. The next Anglophone committee meeting will be held on May 18, time and place to be determined.

RESULTS OF THE 2007 CONVENTION SURVEY

COMMENTS

I was privileged to share in a spiritual experience. Thanks for the sharings and fellowship. Terrific hospitality! Great snacks! Decorations were super. Thank you Johanne. I met many long time friends and made new ones at this convention. See you next September.

SUGGESTIONS

The biggest issue sems the venue. Everybody French & English: Alanon, Alateen, AA should ideally be on the same floor. Exams should not be running when we have our convention. This is a concern to me because of the anonymity of all members, Alanon, Alateen, AA. If possible, provide a daycare for children at least on Saturday. The program needs to be ready earlier so errors can be corrected before they go to print. Everyone pays the entry fee except Alateens who give a donation and professionals giving their time free of charge to speak at our convention.
